With the study trip to the former concentration camp Auschwitz, the ÖH Bundesvertretung wants to offer about 20 participating students an opportunity to deal with the Holocaust and to further their education in the field of remembrance work/politics.

We want to network interested participants from all over Austria and offer intensive support through pre- and post-processing meetings. Together we want to set a clear sign against racism, antiziganism, anti-Semitism and against forgetting.

PLACE AND DESTINATION

The three-day study tour to the former extermination camp of Auschwitz (Poland), includes a visit to the former camp grounds of Auschwitz and Birkenau, as well as the memorial site and museum. There will also be a contemporary witness talk, possibly smaller workshops.

The program is also based on the interests of the students, at the preparatory evening at the end of June the program will be presented in detail and expectations and wishes can be discussed there.

The study tour also aims to make Austrian participation in the crimes of Auschwitz a topic of discussion and to draw attention to Austria’s historical responsibility.
