The educational landscape in Austria is diverse and especially students at teacher training colleges and student teachers are confronted with special conditions.
The different courses of study, credits from old teacher training programs, emphasis in the course of study and also the induction phase after the completed training, present challenges for students. The Department of Pedagogical Affairs is therefore there, on the one hand, to advise and inform student teachers and prospective students well about the circumstances. On the other hand, the department is also there to actively shape further changes in the teaching profession and to network and support the student and university representatives who are responsible for the teaching profession.
We can advise you in the following areas:
- If you have questions about your rights, e.g. during exams
- Info on the subject of proficiency testing etc.
- For inquiries that cannot be answered by your local ÖHs
- For concerns that also affect students from other PHs or university teacher education programs.
- For questions about the ÖH work that concern you as student representatives
The PedRef's areas of work are:
- active and consistent press work for PH students
- Co-design of the New Pedagogical Education and of the service and salary law for pedagogical employees
- Networking of PHs and student teachers of the universities
- Support of student representatives at PHs and universities in finding their way into the ÖH work at your place of education.
- Organization of information events and workshops on the subject of NPB
