BiPol Workshop #2: Recognize Studies – Enable Arrival

The Education Policy Department and the Department for Foreign Students cordially invite you to the first Education Policy Workshop in the new year!

Already within Europe, even Austria, students are confronted with numerous bureaucratic hurdles when changing their university as well as the recognition of achievements. The complexity of the recognition procedures reaches a new order of magnitude as soon as students from universities outside Europe want to continue their studies in Austria. Many of the refugees who want to start a new life in Europe are young (future) academics. In order for them to actually arrive, they must be able to complete their education.

The speakers Dr. Heinz Kasparovsky from the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy and Univ.-Prof. Dr.med.univ. Gerhard-Johann Zlabinger from the Medical University of Vienna will give an overview of recognition procedures, associated difficulties and proposed solutions, especially with regard to the situation of refugees. Afterwards, recognition issues from practice will be discussed.

Afterwards there will be a cold buffet and the possibility for further discussions.
